Cloud Adept is an AWS and DevOps consultancy based in Bolton, working with organisations across the UK.
Our story
From local IT support to cloud specialists
We started in 2014 as Lostock IT Services, supporting businesses and their infrastructure around Bolton.
As our clients moved to the cloud, so did we. Today we focus entirely on Amazon Web Services and DevOps, helping public and private sector organisations design, build and run their systems on AWS, with more than 20 years of IT experience behind the team.
We also build products of our own, including Concordo, Digital Adept and the open-source costwatch. Running them in production keeps our advice practical: we’ve made the trade-offs we recommend.
What we do
AWS and DevOps, from first design to production
Architecture & migration
Multi-account landing zones, networking and identity design, and planned migrations of existing systems to AWS, built on a foundation that scales.
Platform engineering & CI/CD
Infrastructure as code in Terraform or CloudFormation, pipelines that test and deploy every change, and containers on ECS and EKS.
Security & DevSecOps
Least-privilege access, security checks in the pipeline, secrets management and audit logging, with experience of public sector requirements.
Cost optimisation
We find idle and oversized resources with our open-source tool costwatch, remove them safely, and put budgets and alerts in place so the waste doesn’t return.
AI on AWS
Practical generative AI built on Amazon Bedrock, with guardrails, privacy and cost controls. We run it in production on our own products.
Ongoing support
A senior engineer on hand after go-live for monitoring, upgrades, regular cost and security reviews, and new feature work.

Our engineers have delivered cloud and DevOps work for the Home Office, DBS and DWP, and architecture reviews for IBM. That means secure-by-design delivery, automated environments and live services that keep running while they change.
We work just as happily with smaller organisations that need senior AWS skills without hiring a full-time team. Engagements range from a fixed-scope review of your architecture, security or costs, to delivering a migration or platform alongside your engineers, to ongoing support after go-live.
